Biography

Barbara Suttie Curriculum Vitae:

Artist Statement:

As a painter I am powerfully drawn to the landscape as a place of calmness and serenity. It is a kind of anchor in an intense, personal and social world. I not only attempt to embrace the power of nature itself, and its timelessness, but also to find a point where abstraction resonates with my own search for meaning. My paintings reflect the beauty and natural landforms of our country. These images should not only be represented as paintings that have a timelessness, but also as ‘our land’, to be nurtured, revered and looked after by this generation and those of the future as a timeless treasure for us all.
